- 4 copper glasses — a matching tumbler for the whole family
Why you'll love it
- Complete & coordinated: a ready-to-use set and a thoughtful, ready-to-gift package
- Solid hand-hammered copper: each piece finished individually, so no two are exactly alike
- Rooted in tradition: storing and drinking water from copper (known as tamra jal) is a cherished part of Ayurvedic practice
- Timeless design: a warm reddish-gold tone that develops a natural patina and character over time
- Made to gift: a lasting present for housewarmings, weddings, Dhanteras and Diwali
How to use & care
- For tamra jal, fill the jug overnight (6–8 hours) and drink in the morning, as per traditional practice.
- Hand wash with mild dishwashing liquid and dry immediately — avoid the dishwasher.
- To restore shine, rub with lemon and salt (or tamarind), then rinse and dry thoroughly.
- A natural patina is normal; polish only when you want the bright finish back.
- Best kept for water. Avoid storing very hot, salty or acidic liquids for long periods.

Hand-hammered copper vs ordinary steel / non-stick
Why copper matters
For centuries, Indian households have stored water in copper and woken up to Tamra Jal — water charged by the metal overnight. Modern steel and non-stick alternatives are convenient, but they do not carry the same living relationship with what you consume.
Ordinary steel / non-stick
TAMRA copper
Inert surface with no mineral exchange
Naturally enriches water with trace copper ions
Can harbour biofilm if not cleaned well
Antimicrobial surface that stays fresher longer
Synthetic coatings may degrade over heat
No chemical coating — just solid, food-safe copper
Uniform factory finish
Hand-hammered by Thathera artisans, each piece unique
Discarded when worn
Ages into a rich patina and lasts generations
