The Tamra Jal Ritual

For centuries, Indian homes have stored water in copper overnight and drunk it at dawn. They called it Tamra Jal — copper water. Not medicine. A ritual. Here's how to bring it into your day, the pure way.

Water, rested in copper

When water sits in pure copper for several hours, it takes on the qualities Ayurveda has valued for generations. Traditionally, Tamra Jal is believed to support digestion, balance, and overall wellbeing. We share this as heritage and tradition, not as medical advice — but as a daily ritual, it's one of the simplest, most beautiful habits you can keep.

How to drink Tamra Jal

  1. 01

Fill a pure, unlined copper bottle or jug with clean water at night.

  2. 02

Let it rest 6–8 hours (overnight is ideal).

  3. 03

Drink first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach.

  4. 04

Use it as a morning ritual — not all day. Switch to glass or steel through the day.

  5. 05

    Refill fresh each night.

Keep your copper pure

Real copper darkens over time — that's proof of its purity, not a flaw. To refresh it, rub the inside with lemon and salt (or tamarind), rinse well, and dry. Avoid dishwashers and harsh chemicals. Never store lemon water, juice, or other acidic drinks for long periods.

The golden spice

Turmeric has been part of Indian wellness for as long as anyone can remember — in golden milk at night, in food every day, in fresh paste for the skin. Our turmeric is stone-ground and pure, so you get all of its colour, warmth, and aroma. Shared as tradition, not medical advice.
